Putting wheels under ideas and creatively arranging pieces to puzzles are what make me tap dance into the office each day. The Gorge Property Real Estate Team and my family give me the freedom to think outside the box and be creative with business.

All of my Columbia Gorge real estate clients are people I have worked with over the years or others they have referred to me.

Since beginning my real estate career in 1986, meaningful relationships have developed and many times I have the pleasure to help a family member or close friend of a client with a real estate decision.

There are a variety of aspects to Columbia Gorge real estate that make listing and selling land, homes and orchards interesting. Land use laws, the Gorge Scenic Act, financing and the viability of an investment are just a few of the many pieces to the puzzle. Not to mention working with the individual needs of the Buyer and Seller. Real estate is a dynamic changing business!

In 1995 after a few years working in a traditional real estate office ideas of how to do things a bit differently began to form. Mike, my husband, and I seized an opportunity opening the doors of RE/MAX Results Inc. REALTORS in the Hood River News building.

As the roots of our ideas took hold we developed substance in our business. The Gorge Property Real Estate Team is a talented team of individuals working together assisting our clients in buying and selling Columbia Gorge real estate. By choice we are a small company with the ability to give individualized service.

In 2002 RESULTS Property Management, Inc. was added to complement the real estate business. As a full service management company we have short and long term rentals. Vacation rentals in Oregon and Washington add to our services. Hood River vacation homes have been extremely popular. The name was soon changed to Gorge Rentals to coordinate with our web domain name.

The people I spend my days with are the wind beneath my wings. Mike, my husband, is the CEO, computer guy, and the one who can build anything person for our businesses. More importantly, he has been the love of my life since we married in 1972. The rest of the Team members are wise, independent thinkers who know how to make serious work fun. We are very aware of our responsibility for our clients in their real estate and property management decisions. At the same time we have fun with them and each other.

Our story began to be developed as each business supported another. First the real estate story, followed by the property management chapter and then The Gorge Property Real Estate Team. Ideas are an integral part our lives. A part of the story I wanted to write but could not find the right place for the plot was to have our own building. I wanted a special place that had its own story of Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge. Sometime stories come in surprise packages.

The Oak Street Hotel is our surprise package. The hotel had been a home in downtown Hood River from 1909 to 1994 when it was converted to a small hotel. We purchased the hotel in 2002 and have remodeled it. The Gorge Property Real Estate Team and Gorge Rentals are on the first floor of the building. The hotel lobby is in the home’s original living room with a brick fireplace.

The Oak Street Hotel is part of our story where thinking “outside the box” adds a delightful dimension to our businesses. We had fun renovating eight rooms with private baths. Mike, the husband who can build anything guy, built the hand forged queen bed frames and bedside tables with oak leaves as well as the custom bath counters of steel with a bronze finish and porcelain sinks.

Stories have begun to be woven into one as we develop depth with a continuity of professional services for people who share a bit of their life with us in buying or selling homes, rental services and now, staying in the hotel. The big front porch, enjoyed in 1909, is still a place for cold lemonade in the summer. New stories will be told along with the history of the Gorge as people visit together.

A desire to share the stories of people living in the Gorge, raising families, developing businesses, buying homes was the impetus to begin the magazine Gorge Living. Published quarterly, it shares the stories of people who live here, the fascinating history of the area, Columbia Gorge real estate for sale, houses for rent and local businesses. Gorge Living is distributed in nearly 100 businesses throughout the Columbia Gorge.

The depth and success of our real estate, property management and hotel businesses would not be possible without The Team. Please take a moment to “meet” them on this website. Perhaps one day you can come by for a visit on the front porch. We are here ready to help you in buying, selling or renting real estate. And, of course, we are always ready for a good story.
